Who never plays any games in their life?
If we mention the word of game to everyone around the globe, people will generally nod their head in excitement and show interest.
Game carries its own history and it lasts on people’s heart.
There are many games that have been passed on through the generation and played through the ages. The games are generally divided into card game, board game, domino and dice game, family games, sporting and active games. One of the games that captures people’s heart is board game.
Brian Burns through The Encylopedia of Games (1998) points out that game board is previously played as the game of chance in which the players compete to finish the game by throwing dice. The dice itself becomes the determination of the number of movement that can be taken by the players (p.101). However, during the development of the game, the chance is not only the one who determines the winning, but also the startegy.
Chess as one of the examples of board game is known as a game which employs brilliant startegy. The war between the opposing class, the lower and upper class of chess pieces, is shown through chess game. By employing brilliant startegy, the player is able to move his/her lower-ranking pieces to beat the opponent’s valuable pieces. Furthermore, chess has been portrayed as a tool to present the intellegence and mental quality.
